Drag to make 10
Draw a rectangle around one or more numbered apples. The selection clears only when every active apple inside adds up to exactly 10.
Drag across the grid. A red frame means the sum is exactly 10.
Fruit Box is a free online number puzzle that combines quick mental arithmetic with visual scanning. Drag a rectangle around numbered apples whose total is exactly 10, then clear as many of the 170 apples as you can before the 120-second timer ends. There are no levels or downloads: every play is one complete browser-based round.

Draw a rectangle around one or more numbered apples. The selection clears only when every active apple inside adds up to exactly 10.
The 17 by 10 board changes each day and is built with a complete solution, so all 170 apples can be removed with the right sequence.
Each cleared apple is worth one point. Score as high as possible in 120 seconds or finish early with a 170-point perfect clear.
Fruit Box uses one simple action from start to finish. The challenge is choosing rectangles quickly without trapping useful combinations for the endgame.
Look for nearby values that total 10, such as 4 + 6, 2 + 3 + 5, or a larger group of small numbers.
Press or click, drag across the board, and include every apple you want to count. The frame turns red when the selected total reaches 10.
Let go while the sum is exactly 10. Every apple inside disappears and adds one point to your score; an invalid selection leaves the board unchanged.
These settings stay the same throughout the round. Cleared cells become empty spaces and can be included in later rectangles without affecting their sum.
| Rule | Setting | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Board size | 17 columns × 10 rows | A full board starts with 170 numbered apples. |
| Apple values | 1 to 9 | There is no single apple numbered 10; every clear contains at least two apples. |
| Valid move | Rectangle totals 10 | All remaining apples inside the dragged rectangle count toward the total. Empty cells count as zero. |
| Scoring | 1 point per apple | Clearing two apples earns 2 points; clearing five apples at once earns 5 points. |
| Round end | 120 seconds or 170 points | The round ends when time expires or immediately after every apple has been cleared. |
The rules never change during a run, but the board does. As apples disappear, empty spaces create new long-range rectangles while the remaining matches become harder to notice. A steady scanning pattern is more reliable than random dragging.
Clear obvious pairs and compact groups first. The dense opening board offers many independent sum-10 rectangles.
Look across cleared gaps for larger rectangles. Empty cells do not change the sum, so they can connect distant apples.
Scan the remaining rows and columns in order. Use a hint if one valid rectangle is difficult to see.
A 2 + 3 + 5 rectangle scores 3 points, while a 4 + 6 pair scores 2. Larger valid groups improve your score with one drag.
Do not count only the corners or a single row. Every active apple inside the frame contributes to the selected sum.
The hint highlights one valid rectangle without clearing it. Use it when you are stuck, then continue scanning from that area.
